FAQs RDA International Coach Tourism Federation

What does "RDA" stand for?

The RDA was found in 1951 under the name of "Reisering Deutscher Autobusunternehmungen e.V.". Since then it has become the leading federation for group and coach tourism.

The RDA unites around 3.000 companies from the group and coach tourism sector directly and indirectly through partner federations. Since 1991, the official name is "RDA International Coach Tourism Federation", but the abbreviation RDA has been maintained.

Functions and aims of RDA

By active lobbying, the RDA advocates for a positive climate for group and coach tourism. The RDA always stands up for the concerns of its members - whether it is the prevention of restrictions prejudicial for coaches, intervention in legislative procedures etc.

The services of the RDA are oriented at the mid-size sector of group tourism. The RDA promotes the transfer of ideas, innovations and practice-oriented solutions as a benefit for its members and the entire sector.

RDA members & membership benefits

In its member structure the RDA unites companies of the entire group and coach tourism sector. The member structure is based on three pillars.

A1-Members: Coach companies, tour operators, travel agencies, wholesale tour operators, incoming agencies

A2-Members: Tourist boards, tourist offices, tourism associations, ferry companies, mountain railways, leisure/recreation centres, service companies, consultants

A3-Members: Hotels, restraurants

Sound consultation relating to legal questions, taxes, tourism, marketing and sales are already included in the membership.

Members will also receive relevant information about coach tourism as well as specialist knowledge, that is provided in numerours guidelines.

The RDA-Academy also offers eligible trainings for members.

Membership costs

The services of a membership are available for a small membership fee:

Small-sized companies*: € 400,- p.a.

*A1: max. 2 coaches or 4 employees

*A2: max. 4 employees

*A3: max. 60 beds or 4 employees

Medium-sized companies: € 500,- p.a.

Large-sized companies**: € 980,- p.a.
** annual turnover above € 20 MM

Enrolment fee:
A1-Members: € 26,-
A2-Members: € 51,-
A3-Members: € 153,-

The membership in RDA International Coach Tourism Federation is not limited in time and can be ended by a written declaration of withdrawal (notice period: six months to the end of a calendar year).
